Before you start

There are three things worth knowing before you touch any settings.

First, do this on a laptop or desktop browser if you can. Canvas may show the feed link on mobile, but Google Calendar’s “From URL” option is much easier to reach on the web.

Second, the feed is view only inside Google Calendar. You can see assignments, quizzes, course events, and any class meetings that Canvas publishes, but you cannot move a Canvas assignment by dragging it in Google Calendar. Canvas is still the source of truth.

Third, treat the Canvas feed URL like a private link. Anyone who has that URL may be able to see your Canvas calendar items. Do not paste it into a public document, group chat, or forum.

What Canvas sends to Google Calendar

Step 1: copy the Canvas Calendar Feed link

Log in to Canvas in a browser.

Go to Calendar from the main Canvas navigation. In many Canvas layouts, this sits in the left sidebar.

Why Canvas events may not show up right away
