Why firefighter calendars are easy to misread

Most people think in weeks. Fire schedules often repeat every three, four, six, nine, or more days.

That mismatch is the reason your duty days drift across weekdays. If you set a 24/48 schedule to repeat every Monday, you will be wrong almost immediately.

The calendar needs to repeat by cycle length, not weekday.

Build the base rotation

Create a separate calendar called “Fire shift” or your shift name.

Pick a known duty day as your anchor.

Create the first duty event with the real report and relief time.
